September Recommendation: 2002 Domaine Pichot Vouvray
A beautifully balanced white boasting peach and honeysuckle flavors. Superb for a warm evening and... it's my Mother's favorite!
Shana's grandfather was reputed to have had an exceptional "nose" for finding business during his long and remarkable sales career. Shana has been compared most favorably with her grandfather in this respect, but even more importantly she has developed her own keen "nose" for the wine business as a labor of love.
Beginning with her eclectic education at Storrs Winery whilst she was attending the University of California at Santa Cruz, she has gone on to live and work in Bordeaux. She "did" the wine harvest in the fall of 1998, an experience compared to none other in the wine industry.
After returning to the United States, Shana undertook her first position as a representative for selected European and other wines in Baltimore, Maryland for two years. She now represents Regal Wines distributorship in the western protions of San Francisco. The fine wines she handles are from Kendall-Jackson and other fine California selections.
You can be certain if Shana recommends a wine that she has a thorough knowledge and respect for that particular selection, and that you are indeed in for a gustatory treat if you but follow her direction.
