GOALS
GIFT OF SIGHT FOUNDATION goals include identifying communities in need of eye banking, as well as providing coordination and funding resources to bring existing technology to these communities. As well, GIFT OF SIGHT FOUNDATION support the development of new and even more effective means of combatting corneal eye disease throughout the world.
GIFT OF SIGHT FOUNDATION seeks to build local community support and cooperation between local governments, health institutions, medical organizations, and business and community service organizations --- most notably Rotary clubs and districts --- to provide comprehensive a local resource support base for fully-functioning, self-supporting eyebank facilities that meet both international medical standards and the needs of the local population. This includes the establishment of promotional and educational programmes to ensure the collection of sufficient eye donation from within the local service area to serve all local need.
GIFT OF SIGHT FOUNDATION
further seeks to coordinate the technological and financial support necessary to achieve the primary goal by outreach to external individual donors, institutions and organizations. The primary focus of GIFT OF SIGHT FOUNDATION activities will be to help fund projects sponsored by Rotary clubs and districts and supported by Matching Grants from The Rotary Foundation of "Rotary International. This will include supplemental matching funds to Rotary districts where Eye Banks are needed and such funding is essential to success of the Matchign Grant application. It also will include supplemental support of the Rotary Foundation itself to offset the burden of funding Matching Grants for this purpose. Finally, local institutions and the technicl oversight organizations will be supported, again by matching funds, to reduce their burden of providing the remainder of the resources not funded by Rotary Foundation regulations.
More specifically, the GIFT OF SIGHT FOUNDATION is designed to help coordinate existing resources as well as to help design and develop new resources to overcome sight impairedness

......to enhance and improve the quality of life for all who need tissue or organ replacement, making them economically self-sufficient and removing them as a burden on society
......to educate all people in areas of coreal or organ deficit to the need, desirability and value of tissue and organ donation as a means of contributing to the well being of others and to benefit of the entire society;
......to build and support facilities for keratoplasty --- including training centers --- for the harvesting, transporting, evaluation, storage, research, distribution and implantation or other medical utilization of human tissue.
OPERATIONAL PLAN
The primary means of achieving the goals of the GIFT OF SIGHT FOUNDATION are to seek matching funds for all projects, so that each individual , instutional, organizational, or corporate donor's contribution is worth at least double the original contributed amount or service.
